Play Checkers with a Friend

Create a public or private room, then invite a friend with a share link or room code. You can also browse the lobby to join an open room or watch a game already in progress. The board is always 8×8 English draughts.

Create a room

Choose a room type, then invite a friend with the link or room code.

Room type

Public rooms use shorter codes and appear in the lobby for anyone to join.

Join a room

Paste a friend's share link or enter a room code. A waiting room seats you; a game already in progress opens as a spectator.

Leaving does not close the room. The host can re-enter from Your rooms in the lobby, or close the room. If everyone disconnects, the room expires after about 20 minutes. Room codes are only for this match and do not store personal information.

A borrowed table, not a matchmaking hall

If the other player is not in the room, open a temporary table and send the link. Every hop they accept shows up on your board as well. There is no long-lived account, and this is not a service that pairs you with a stranger by rating.

  1. Make the room, then hand over the link

A private room is only for people who have the address. They sit down on the same game without registering or memorising a passphrase.

  2. Or walk into a public seat

A waiting public room can be joined from the lobby. A game already under way can be watched; you cannot move for either side. Private codes never appear on that list.

  3. Look twice before the move sticks

An accepted move is sent to the other board, so online rooms have no undo. If the tab drops for a moment, opening it again usually puts you back in the same seat.

Private
Send the link to someone you already know, then start.
Public
Take a waiting seat from the lobby, or watch a game that already has two players.
Same rules
Still 8×8 dark squares, still a forced jump, still a king that steps one square.
